Adobe Typekit provides a large number of fonts you can use to create a unique look and feel for your web site. As an iEditWeb, Inc hosting customer this feature is included at no extra charge. The feature allows you to select which fonts you want to use out of the Adobe Typekit.
It is recommended that is is the first thing you do after selecting a template for your site. You will then be able to use the fonts selected here in your stylesheet or style editor.
Limit the number of font you use in your site to 2 or less. The more fonts you use the longer it will take you web pages to load. Using a large number of different fonts can make your site look bad and make it difficult for users to read your content.
It may take several minutes for fonts selected here to actually appear on your site as Adobe distributes the information to it Content Delivery Network. It is best to exit the editor and reopen the site 10 minutes later after selecting fonts here.
The font shown as usable only represent TypeKit fonts. You will see the standard browser based fonts in the style editor and advanced style editor along with any fonts selected here.
Select SITE | Adobe TypeKit from the main menu.
You can search for available fonts by selecting Classification, Recommended For, Properties, Standard or Caps Only, Default Figure Style or entering a string into the Name Search field and clicking the search icon.
After you press one of the buttons or the search icon, the Available Fonts list box will be populated with the fonts that match the search criteria.
When you select (click on) one of the fonts in the Available fonts list, the Variations tab will appear and show all the variation of the font included. You may click the search tab at any time to return to see the search criteria.
When you have a font highlighted you may press the left arrow to move the font into the Usable Fonts list.
To remove a font from the Usable Fonts list, select (click on) it in the Usable Fonts list and press the right arrow .
Press OK when you are done selecting fonts. The fonts in the usable Fonts list will be available in the Style Editor and Advanced Style editor. Adobe will begin publishing the selected fonts to their Content Delivery Network. The new fonts should be available in approximately 10 minutes.
